Some headPDF tools (such as Merge PDF) run entirely in your browser. For these tools, your files are processed locally on your device. We do not upload, store, view, or analyze the content of your documents. Your files remain in browser memory and disappear when the tab is closed.

2. Tools that may use server-side processing

Some existing or future tools—such as file conversion, compression, OCR, or AI-powered features—may require temporary server-side processing. If a tool uses server processing, it will be clearly indicated inside the interface.

For server-based tools:

  • Files are processed only for the duration of the task
  • Files are not used for analytics, training, or profiling
  • Files are automatically deleted after processing
  • We do not share your files with advertisers or third parties

3. Analytics data

We collect limited, non-personal analytics data to understand how users interact with the website. This may include:

  • Pages viewed
  • Tool usage counts
  • Browser type
  • Approximate region (via anonymized IP)

We do not collect or analyze any content from your PDF files.

4. Cookies

We use a minimal number of cookies to support basic site functionality and anonymous analytics. We do not use cookies for advertising, cross-site tracking, or profiling.

5. No account required

Most tools on headPDF work without creating an account. If we introduce optional accounts in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly.

  • File processing for server-based tools
  • Hosting and CDN delivery

These providers are required to handle data securely and cannot use your files for their own purposes.

7. Data retention

Browser-based tools: No files ever leave your device, and no retention occurs.

Server-based tools: Files are stored temporarily only while the task is being processed, and are automatically deleted afterward.

We do not store your documents long-term.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security measures, including HTTPS encryption, secure servers, and automatic file deletion. While we maintain high security standards, no method is 100% secure.

Avoid uploading extremely sensitive documents to server-based tools.
